Paket62 Example Files

This page content is a follow up on configuring the Kenwood THD7e and TS2000 internet TNC to be used with the Packet Radio Program PaKet6.2 written by Tony VK2DHU.  Paul G4APL prefers using this program as it is DOS Based and can be used with any External TNC2 Clone or PK232.  The software come with extensive help accessed via the F1 Key and supported by a 200 page online manual via the ALT/F1 Key.

It also has extensive scripting, that has been used to auto connect to remote systems, node hopping via multi NetRom Nodes then connected to remote user for one to one contacts, TNOS,JNOS system. Auto Connecting to Convers Systems, and BBS's to send and receive Personal Mail and Bulletins.

The software also contains it's own personal Mail System (PMS)

This is just a few of the features, the online help details the rest.  This program has been run on Pc and Laptops all Windows version up to WinXP using a short cut o call C:\PaKet\PaKet.EXE.  Assuming he programs have been unzipped into C:\PaKet

Filenames must confirm toe the 8.3 DOS format

When Paket starts up it check for an C:\PaKeT\autoexec.scp file.  This is useful to pre-configure  the TNC.  More so, if you are using an internal TNC built into a Transceiver e.g. Kenwood THD7e TS2000e.

These Internal TNC's have a limited command set. Refer to the research carried out by Henk PE1DNN TDH7e Though G4APL has used them since 2000 for portable to connect by to the GB7CIP Caterham AX25/IP Gateway. So long as a local Amateur Radio Node Access Point is operation on 2 metres or 70cm and well connected to the rest of the Network via Radio or internet Tunnels.
